CrossFit Amend January Newsletter

Happy New Year!! 

Our first On Ramp/Fundamentals class of 2018 will begin Monday, January 8th! We are excited to see what this year holds for our CrossFit Amend Family! If you know anyone that is interested in CrossFit, we plan on having On Ramp/Fundamentals classes every other month unless we need to add more classes. Watch our Facebook page for updates!

December's original challenge was stolen by the Grinch, so we had a Facebook challenge. The winners were Lisa Sanders and Meghan Dicks! Congratulations, and wear those hoodies proudly!

January's Challenge will be an Open Gym participation challenge, so all you have to do is show up to Open Gym and participate in the challenge WOD. (This means it is not a requirement to RX the WOD. We want you to push yourself and have fun!) After completing the WOD, your name will be entered to win a container of Driven PreWOD! You have an opportunity to enter 3 times this month, so get ready! Challenge begins Saturday, January 13, 2018 and the winner of the drawing will be announced February 1st, 2018. Good luck!

Special thank you to Elizabeth Cheek for coming in and doing the InBody Test for those that were interested. This is something that we will be doing throughout the year (about every 10 weeks or so) to track our progress, so you will have other chances to do this if you didn't make it out for the initial test. Keep an eye our Facebook page to see when the next test is scheduled.

If you are having some issues with pain or mobilization, R.J. Tinsley offers on-site physical therapy at your home, business, or at CrossFit Amend! Tinsley Therapy, LLC offers several services including dry needling. He'll soon be offering IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) at the end of January. If you are having sciatica, low back/neck pain, plantar fasciitis, migraines/headaches, hip/knee/ankle/shoulder pain, trouble obtaining certain positions such as a full range of motion squat or snatch, you can call or text 870-291-1347 and he can help you start moving better.

Beyond the Whiteboard is a fantastic tool to keep track of your progress and fitness level. You can keep track of things other than WODs, so it is a great way to monitor your nutrition, sleep, weight, fish oil intake, etc. You can choose to post publicly, to your fellow Amend members only, or keep your posts private. We love BTWB because it is inexpensive (just $5 added to your monthly Amend membership), it keeps us up to speed on how we are doing individually as well as compared to others, and it's easy! It is available as an app on iPhone and android. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Coach Jess and she will sign you up!
